Back in 2009 and early 2010 Tim “Gonzo” Gordon and Roger Pike of
Communication Steroids in Salem, Oregon did a series of
blog posts on the topic of making public speaking fun. Then they collected them into a free 48-page ebook and posted them both
here and
here.
There are are suggestions from about sixty people. They include wearing costumes, singing, doing magic tricks, using other props, and handing out toys, food, etc.
If you are not enjoying yourself, then your audience also probably is not enjoying themselves. Sometimes we can forget that
rule number one is just to have fun.
