From a quote to a bumper sticker















On June 30, 2020 there is an opinion article by Thomas L. Friedman at the The New York Times titled This should be Biden’s bumper sticker. He begins with the Hal Harvey quote shown above, and then discusses those three brief sentences. That quote would work well in a speech. But is too long for a bumper sticker – which should only have one line.









Mr. Friedman ends with another version condensed into a bumper sticker, as is shown above.











Contrast it with my expanded version of a Donald Trump MAGA campaign bumper sticker (explaining the rest of his not at all respectful thought).
