From September 22 through 29 my wife Elaine and I went on an ocean cruise from Seattle to Alaska on the Royal Caribbean ship Ovation of the Seas. At 1:00 PM on September 24 we docked in Juneau, the state capital. We had booked an excursion on the Goldbelt Tram. So we walked west through town (as shown above) to the tram station. The upper station is 1.800 feet above the cruise dock.
There is a series of trails leading from the upper station, as shown above. We departed at 11:00 PM heading to Skagway. Our one-week cruise just provided a taste of these city destinations.
